It’s about damn time!

We met our Junior year of high school! We both decided to go to the Medina Country Career Center for their nursing program. I (Jaelyn) remember the first time Dakota had introduced herself to me. It was love at first sight! I quickly found out she had a girlfriend at the time and did what most people would have done…became friends with her. After a week she had broken up with her ex and like all lesbians, I moved quick and got her number for “homework”. Dakota didn’t expect a thing until I started to flirt with her. Finally, she rubbed two of her brain cells together and asked me out on a date. And it was history…

We were at the Sprowl’s Christmas and they planned this elaborate scheme, where multiple people had large gifts. I didn’t think anything of it when Dakota said I was included. It was a tall rectangular box that I was convinced was a small rainbow Christmas tree. They told me to open the very top flap, I flipped open the box where there was a sticky note that told me to turn around. When I did, Kota was behind me on one knee with a ring. Obviously I said yes.

We went on our first vacation together to go visit Jaelyns parents. Our first stop was dad’s in Norfolk, Virginia! One of our adventures was a ‘private’ beach where we did a lot of rock skipping. Jaelyn was handing me rocks to skip since I’m a princess : ) Next thing I know she is behind me with a ring box and says “What about this rock?”. I said “Hell yes”!
