We’re having a wedding!

Jaelyn and Colton have known each other since 2010. They became good friends their freshman year of high school. A few years went by of Colton being Jaelyn’s “football boy”- the cheerleaders would bring candy to their assigned players each game day- and sparks began to fly. Homecoming of 2013, Jaelyn decided to muster up the courage and ask Colton to be her escort. He, of course, said yes. Being that they were such good friends, Colton decided that they should “just go to prom together” as well. Jaelyn, of course, said yes. A few months go by and Colton and Jaelyn were getting closer than ever. November 14th, 2013 Colton asked Jaelyn to be his girlfriend- even though he assumed they had been dating the whole time. Fast forward to Christmas Eve of 2017. Jaelyn assumed it was the usual family holiday get-together. Colton had something else in mind. During the exchange of presents, Colton handed Jaelyn a wood-burned plaque with “Arrington” written on it. Being the airhead that Jaelyn is, she looked at it and smiled, and put it with her pile of presents. Colton then tried to keep talking about the plaque where Jaelyn would respond with things like, “Yes, it looks good… it’s a nice plaque.” Colton had to think on his feet and came out and asked Jaelyn if she wanted to be an Arrington. He got down on one knee and proposed in front of his family. With tears in her eyes, Jaelyn meekly shook her head yes. Being that Jaelyn still had to finish college, wedding planning wasn’t the first thing on their list. A few years went by and they finally set a date… September 24th, 2021. Having a list full of things to do, they decided to secretly get married at the courthouse October 30th of 2020- just so they wouldn’t have to worry about the legalities when it came closer to their wedding day. Jaelyn and Colton lived secretly as newlyweds for months, until a miracle happened. On Easter of 2021, Jaelyn and Colton found out they were expecting. Not wanting to walk down the aisle over seven months pregnant, Jaelyn and Colton decided to reschedule their wedding. A few days before their pregnancy announcement, they also announced they had gotten married the year before- no more secrets for this couple! On November 27th, 2021, Jaelyn and Colton welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world. From saying “I love you” when they were just friends to now having a bundle of joy, Jaelyn and Colton are FINALLY going to have a wedding. 🤍
