Our story began in August of 2021. Jael had just moved back to her home state of KS, in Februrary of 2021, and accepted a new position for Johnson Co, in Lenexa. She had come across this online dating app for Christians called "Upward" on Facebook every day! Now, long story short, Jael was not a fan of meeting her potential suitor via online, but things just weren't working out for her when it came to finding her knight and shining armour through church, and most guys her age were already married, too young, or just plain immature. She decided to give it a shot, and created her profile. Unbeknowest, to Jael, a guy by the name of "Cory" had double" liked "her profile. After some deep pondering, while she was at work, she hit the "like" button back on his profile. Within a few minutes he instatnly messgaged her! Jael, had butterflies at first. This was the start of something! Had God planned this all along? After many correspondances back and forth, on the app, they exchanged phone numbers. They spent the next month talking for hours every night. On Septmeber 12th we met for the first time in person, and on Sept 15th we had our first official date! Despite his hatred for KU, (he's an Okie) and her being a KS girl, their love prevailed, and they cannot wait to be married on Decemeber 2nd, 2023!

It was Jael's birthday weekend and Cory and Jael decided to celebrate her birthday with dinner, shopping and a late night DQ run, all to which Jael just assumed that he would "pop" the question!!! Sadly, no. On Saturday, Jael's family planned to celebrtate her birthday with a grill out at her brothers place. An hour before they had to leave for Jael's brothers, Cory piped up and said, "Let's go to the Lake, and take pictures!" Jael was obviously confused by this demand, as what would make him want to go take pictures at the lake? She rolled with it, but she had her suspicions. They drove around for some time, and after 5 minutes Cory, pulled off by a pretty lake view. In the meantime, Jael got out her phone and proceeded to take some pictures of flowers. After some time, Cory grabbed her arm and told her, "come here". Proceeded to tell her what an amazing woman she was, and that " I've been wanting to do this for a long time.." Got down on his knees and asked her to marry him!!! Of course she said, "YESSSS!!" Her wish had come true! It was a perfect way to share and surprise her whole family. She couldn't of asked for a better day!
