I know many say that your child hood crush is just a thing that everyone will grow out of. I have always known of Sara since we attended middle school together, but I never got the chance to really know her. I only knew her as Sara Thornton the crazy, athletic, pretty girl in my homeroom. That was until the second quarter of our 7th grade year our teacher reassigned our class seating and we sat beside each other. That was the first time she ever talked to me, and I was a nervous wreck. I had a crush on her before the school day ended. As the school year went on the more we got to talk the more I tried to flirt with Sara, probably making a fool of myself, and one day I finally built up the courage to ask her to be my girlfriend. Well to ask one of her friends to ask her for me because thats what nervous middle school boys do right? When her friend came back to me and told me she said yes I felt like I won a million dollars. Sara Thornton, the crazy athletic, pretty girl wants to be my girlfriend! Now it is around Christmas time and I just have to get her the best gift that I can think of. My grandmother agreed to take me Christmas shopping for her at Walmart and I stumbled across a 50 dollar bracelet. I’ll never forget asking her to buy it for me. “Jaeden, you’re 12. You’ll probably have another crush years from now. I don’t think you need to get her something this big.” But I insisted that this was the gift for her. Even though she broke up with me a couple weeks later. Fast forward 14 years later and here we are getting married, and she still has the bracelet. Not too many people get to say they’re marrying their childhood crush. I am beyond blessed to say I get to marry Sara Thornton, the crazy, athletic, beautiful woman and love of my life.
