Jadon and Emma first met in fourth grade in 2010, when both of their families had recently moved and begun attending Rhema Bible Church. From the very beginning, they became close friends—laughing easily, growing up side by side, and forming a bond that felt natural and safe. In fifth grade, Emma worked up the courage to pass Jadon a classic “check yes or no” note, asking if he liked her. He checked yes. But with all the infinite wisdom that only two fifth graders can possess, they decided that their friendship mattered too much to risk. So, despite that sweet moment of honesty, they chose to stay just friends. And stay friends they did. Years passed with Jadon and Emma remaining part of the same friend group, growing up together and sharing life’s milestones. Over time, both assumed that whatever feelings had once been there had faded. They dated other people, experienced different seasons of life, and continued to support one another from the sidelines. In 2015, Emma moved away to Tennessee. Even with the distance, they stayed loosely connected—checking in from time to time, sending a message here or there to see how life was treating the other. Then in 2017, Jadon moved from Oklahoma to Iowa. Life continued to pull them in different directions, but somehow the connection never fully disappeared. They would text occasionally and talk on the phone once or twice a year, always picking up easily where they left off. During those years, both of them were in serious relationships, and they wholeheartedly supported one another through those chapters. They grew, matured, and learned a lot about themselves and about love. In 2023, Emma moved back to Oklahoma to attend Rhema Bible Training College. Jadon returned to Oklahoma in 2024. Even then, their paths didn’t cross much, and life continued at its own pace. But then, in early 2025, the timing finally aligned in a way it never had before. They were both single, both back home, and both unknowingly standing at the edge of something God had been quietly writing for years. Jadon came to a game night with Emma and her college friends and somehow found himself swept into a camping trip with a group of people he barely knew—handling it like an absolute champ. Slowly, he began spending more time with Emma’s friends, and Emma with his. Conversations became more frequent. Hanging out became intentional. Friendship deepened into something familiar yet entirely new. On June 18, 2025, Jadon and Emma officially began dating—and it was absolutely perfect. After more than a decade of friendship, the “getting to know you” stage was beautifully minimal. They already knew each other’s hearts, histories, quirks, and character. Love didn’t have to start from scratch; it grew exponentially. As they reconnected with each other’s families and became even more intertwined with one another’s friends, it became clear that this was something deeply rooted, steady, and intentional. All of those years—of friendship, distance, growth, patience, and timing—led them to November 14, 2025, when Jadon asked Emma to spend forever with him. And she said yes.
