Jaden and Rebecca first met briefly at the Biola Cafeteria in October 2023. Though they didn’t speak again for 13 months, Jaden often thought of her—at an increasing rate—so much so that he felt he had to do something about it. After weeks of prayer in December 2024, he felt peace about pursuing her, gaining her number in January 2025 and proposing that October. During the first few months of dating, Jaden wasn’t sure Rebecca liked him, while Rebecca wasn’t sure Jaden had a sense of humor. Of course, those uncertainties faded as they enjoyed many dates in different beach towns, ate far too many desserts, and spent countless hours doing homework together in the library. After much prayer, Jaden and Rebecca decided in June 2025 that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. What followed was a carefully crafted proposal involving fake texts, staged conversations with Rebecca and her parents, fake flight changes, and a fake dinner—finally coming to life on the cliffs of Newport Beach. Jaden and Rebecca cannot wait to image Christ’s relationship with the Church through the wonderful gift of marriage.
