Nick and I met our freshman year of college at Minnesota State University-Mankato. We had a group of mutual friends and our paths had crossed a few times before we actually started talking. It was probably after going to a house party that Nick got my number from a friend & reached out. This lead into our month-long winter break where we talked everyday! Nick was truly unlike anyone I had ever met & in all the best ways. We're now coming up on 8 years together! Within that time we've experienced big milestones in life - graduating college, starting our careers, buying a house, adopting a rescue pup (Paisley) + one more (Zeke) & getting engaged! We can't wait to celebrate our biggest day yet with all of our closest friends and family
It was November 2021 & Nick was invited to play in a hockey game with his Uncle Bob at the Crypto Arena in L.A. We had been out to visit Bob and his Aunt Susan many times before in California, which has turned into one of our most favorite places to go! It was decided that we would make a trip out of it and visit together. On Friday the four of us drove to the beach in Malibu for happy hour followed by dinner. It was a classic lineup with appies and the infamous Manhattans (if you know the Kreutziger family then you know the importance of this drink). It was a perfect setting with the ocean and a nearly empty beach, expect for this one bird that kept trying to steal our crackers & actually got away with an entire sleeve at one point.. Bob had been filming different videos of family for a project of his. Each person talked about what the family drink "Manhattans" had meant to them. Nick and I used this opportunity to share our own video at the beach. It was during this time that Nick got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Everything about that moment was perfect. It was so fun to then get to share the news with our close friends and family!
