Due to the recent devastation to Puerto Rico, we have decided to bring our wedding back home to Chicago. While this was a difficult decision to make, we feel that it is in the best interest of all of our guests. We are working to make arrangements for the same weekend at a venue in the Chicago area. As details are secured they will be updated on the website. We ask that you join us in praying for Puerto Rico and pray for us as we continue to build towards our marriage.
Jade and Tut met in the Summer of 2002 during freshman orientation for Kenwood Academy HS. They were both placed in an accelerated math program, which required them to take all the same classes for their first two years. Although they would often hang in the same group, they never really cared for each other. In the Summer of 2004, they saw each other outside of school for the first time at the Bud Biliken Parade. It was at that exact moment that sparks began to fly. Once back in school for their junior year, they both spoke to mutual friends about each other. After school one day, Jade realized the baseball team, which Tut played on, had just gotten back from a game. She saw one of his teammates outside and asked him to get Tut. For whatever reason, Tut came outside without a shirt on and according to him Jade's eyes instantly lit up. She waited for him to finish changing then they walked to McDonalds together. Everything changed when someone offered Tut a ride home and he accepted it instead of walking Jade home. At that point, she no longer liked him (for the rest of that week at least). Once he apologized and she got over him accepting the ride, they continued to hang out after school and talk on the phone every day. November 7th, 2004 is when they made it official. In Jade's mind, it wasn’t officially official until he specifically asked “Will you be my girlfriend?”. After mustering up the courage he finally asked and of course she accepted. They’ve been inseparable ever since.
In 2016, Tut decided a week before Jade's birthday that they should celebrate in Vegas. During the night of her birthday they dined at STK before heading to the Venetian for a late-night gondola ride. Normally each boat is shared, but Tut decided to buy out the full boat so that they could be alone. Any other day Jade would have questioned it, but since it was her birthday she just went along with it. During the ride, they went through a tunnel and passed a little white boat. The guy rowing their gondola began to tell them how popular it was and that every day of the year a couple gets married on it. This must have been the perfect segue for Tut, because he turned to tell to Jade he loved her, then next thing she knew he was on one knee (after nearly tipping the boat over). Of course, she began to cry and said yes! Before he could get up, their boat exited the tunnel and they were greeted by cheers from everyone looking from up above. It was truly a magical night!
