What time is check in/check out for rooms?

When should I book my room by?

Answer

Please finalize booking no later than August 25th, 2025. There will likely be lodges available to book after this time, but they will not be available through the room block after August 30th. IF YOU MISS THE ROOM BLOCK DEADLINE please contact the venue for further assistance, they may have some other options available!

What is the address of the lodges and venue?

Answer

Big Meadows Lodge, 2, Mile 51, Skyline Dr, Stanley, VA 22851. The ceremony and reception will be at the same address.

Is there an entrance fee to the park?

Answer

Yes, there is a $30.00 entrance fee per car into the park. Veterans and active military can enter the park for free if they present a CAC card, VHIC card, Veteran ID card, or a license with a veterans designation on it. Anyone who is medically determined to have a permanent disability may obtain a free park pass as well. This is true for all federal recreation sites and is a lifetime pass! PLEASE NOTE THAT ENTRANS FEES ARE CASHLESS.

Can I take pictures during the ceremony?

Answer

Please, no photos during the ceremony. We will have a photographer and will upload pictures from the ceremony. You may take pictures before and after!

Are kids welcome at the wedding?

Answer

We encourage guests to find alternative care for their children if possible. It is not going to be the most child-friendly setting and parents deserve a night to have fun!

What should I wear to the wedding?

Answer

Besides the basic no white rule, we would love it if people wore garden partyish attire. Anything floral, fall themed, whimsical, fairytale-esque is highly encouraged. The ceremony will be outdoors in late fall, so it may be a good idea to plan an extra layer for this portion of the event.

How close are the lodges to the ceremony site?

Answer

The lodges are within walking distance of the ceremony site (a five minute walk max). Everything is very close together.

When should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive fifteen minutes before the ceremony to ensure everyone is seated by the time the event begins.

Are plus one's allowed?

Answer

If a plus one is not already designated in the RSVP section, IT IS NOT ASSUMED YOU HAVE A PLUS ONE. Please discuss bringing a plus one with the bride and groom prior to RSVP as we have a limited maximum occupancy for our venue.

Are the ceremony and reception ADA accessible?

Answer

The lodges, ceremony site, and reception area are all ADA/wheelchair accessible. If you have further questions about accessibility please email us or contact the venue.

Is parking available near the venue?

Answer

Yes, there is plentiful parking available at the lodges. Parking does not cost money!

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Weather permitting, the ceremony will be held outdoors. The reception will be held indoors. The rehearsal dinner will be held indoors as well!

Does my RSVP here book my room?

Answer

No, you will need to book your lodge separate from RSVPing on the guest list. Details can be found in the “Travel” section of this website.
