(Jades Take) I remember calling one of my girlfriends in need of help to move, when I called her I had stressed to her how urgent it was but how I wanted to keep it private. Unbeknownst to me she had called a mutual friend of ours that she told me would show up to help. That next morning our mutual friend and Kervyn showed up in a modern day horse and carriage that had the appearance of a U-haul. As that day went on NOT AS PLANNED, I vividly recall one of our conversations we had, Kervyn had made the comment "I'm about to be your new best friend", now in my defense because of things that where going on in my life at that time I had planned on buying a one way ticket to California that coming April, so I responded "I don't need any new best friends". And here we are months and a year later planning our wedding, and realizing how wonderful it has been, and how I have been blessed with a gift I wasn't looking for.

(Kervyns Take) My good friend had asked me if I wanted to assist him in helping a friend move. My first response was NO THANK YOU especially after finding out how far it was. However he was able to convince me by implying that he would be driving and that we were going to be helping a sister move and how she needed strong brothers because it would only be sisters moving. Because I’m such a gentleman, I said yes. The next day was when I had realized that I was helping Jade move, I had never really had the opportunity to personally talk to Jade before that day but I heard about her through mutual friends. I was volunteered to drive the U-haul because I drive for a living. I think that impressed Jade. The move did not go as planned so we decided to have lunch at a park. That afternoon we had the chance to talk and we exchanged our Snapchat information. I knew we were going to be friends within the first 5 minutes into talking to her but I’ll be honest I did not see her becoming my fiancé. But a year and some change later, here we are about to start a new chapter together.

(Jades Take) That Saturday started out as planned, my parents where in town visiting from California, Kervyn and I had made previous arrangements to have a spa day followed by family pictures. Our plans would be for me to take out the moms and he would take out the dads. That day the weather was BEAUTIFUL. After an amazing spa morning I was told to go to a friends house where I would have my face made up (I thought it was just for the pictures). After that I was given an address to a beautiful park where we took our family pictures. After that I was driven back to the house where, after a few minutes of stalling I was brought into the backyard.....when I say I was left speechless, I truly mean speechless. A few side-notes about me is that I love sunflowers and all things fall, the movie "The Greatest Showman" is one of my many favorite movies, and the song "Say You Won't Let Go" by James Arthur is one of our songs. The way that Kervyn combined all of those things into one and pulled off the ULTIMATE SURPRISE proposal that included some of our closest family and friends with a few dance numbers by him truly, has to be one of the biggest expressions of love that I've personally experienced!! He is truly an amazing person inside and out.

(Kervyns Take) I knew what I was going to do for Jade’s proposal after one of our dates. There was a man who had proposed to his girlfriend at the restaurant that we had went to and I remember Jade looking me dead in my eyes and said “You better not give me a restaurant proposal”. I also knew from our past conversations that she did not care for a private proposal between her and I, and how she wanted her family and friends involved. So when I heard how her parents were coming down to MA for an upcoming wedding I knew that I had to take advantage of her parents being in town. So I called her parents and got their blessing and then I went straight to planning. I had managed to turn my parents backyard into a restaurant with the help of my friends and family. I had gotten candles with sunflowers in them which is her favorite flower, and she also has a love for all things fall. I wanted to keep it a surprise so I kept her thinking I was doing it all for her parents. We had already planned to have a spa day, but I had made sure that her nails where done and had made arrangements for her makeup to be done. We had our family pictures at the park, and I had also made a dance for her with two of my friends. I had made sure her cousins and her sister came. Of course there was Haitian food involved. The proposal was a complete success, and when I stop to think about all the time, energy and money that was spent, it was all worth it. I wanted to give Jade a proposal she would remember.
