Jade...Quiceanera in the making

The history of the Quinceanera

The transition from childhood to womanhood is an important event in almost any culture. Hispanics, however, mark this memorable occasion with the celebration of a Quinceañera or Sweet 15. The Quinceañera tradition is believed to have started many years ago when the Spanish conquerors brought the tradition to Mexico and others say the tradition originated with the Aztecs. Regardless, a Quinceañera celebration is a Hispanic tradition associated with Mexican, Caribbean, Central and South American cultures. Through the different ceremonies that take place today, the one important theme is the young Quinceañera is formally introduced to society and it is a day to give thanks for having reached her age and her commitment to God, responsibility and purity. .

The Dress Debut

It's all about the dress!

You will notice there are several pictures on the website with Jade in different dresses. This is just to share the elimination process with you all. These gorgeous dresses were all try-ons during this process that did not make the cut. Jade's dress will be revealed on the day of her party! No one has seen it yet!! Jade has chosen an Indian-Bollywood theme for her celebration (hence the invitation and website) some of us will dress in traditional attire to pay homage to this beautiful culture. It is certainly not required, but definitely encouraged. We can't wait to share this day with you all!
