October, 8th 2022, our lives changed forever. Little did we know a Boise State game, a small bar, a bench, a few drinks, would lead us to the rest of our lives. I fully believe Domingo and I had a couple guardian angels leading us to each other that night. Neither of us were looking for anything, just trying to finish our drinks and call it a night. Until I sat down next to him. I called bullshit on everything he was telling me. “I hunt a lot!” “Bullshit.” While showing off pictures of my Papa’s guided hunt successes. “My name is Domingo Urquiaga” “ Now I know you’re full of shit.” Asking to see his ID. Domingo had to be dragged out of the bar that night. Trying to seal the night with my phone number, hopefully my real name, and what I thought, a kiss (which I said no to). He got in the car and told his family that he had just met the woman he was going to marry. Domingo has always been so confident in choosing me and never makes me doubt his love for me. He has made loving him back so effortless and easy. I love that he really is a hunter and works so hard at it. I absolutely love his name and his basque roots. I never thought I’d be a backpacking girly, but I love when I get to do it with him. Domingo was never a cat person, but him and Stella are best buds. Life with each other feels like we’ve known each other our entire lives. We thank our guardian angels daily for bringing us together and doing so at the most perfect timing. Our life is beautiful together and we cannot wait for what the future holds for us as a family.
