How We Met

09.07.14

Trace & I met on September 7, 2014 through mutual friends, my senior year and his junior year of high school. We first met at Grand Station with some friends, and we laugh now because we didn't really hit it off there. After bowling for an hour or so, we went to my church's back to school dodge ball tournament. The boys were playing in it so the girls went to watch. At the dodge ball tournament we began talking and that's where we realized we really liked each other. Though the intentions were for us to just be homecoming dates, we quickly realized we were meant to be together. After spending everyday together since meeting, September 12, 2014 Trace & I became "official" boyfriend and girlfriend. Yes, we started officially dating 5 days after meeting each other. We both had been praying about wanting to be single, but God had a different plan for us. He gave us each other when we least expected it and we are forever grateful.

The Proposal

12.02.17

I'm going to begin this by saying Trace really surprised me. On December 2, 2017, I spent the day getting ready. I thought my roommates and I were going to take pictures, eat dinner, and open Christmas presents like we did the year before. On the way to what I thought was us taking pictures, my friend, Katie, said she wanted to drive through Christmas lights on the way to downtown Bryan. As we were driving through a neighborhood in Bryan, I saw a gazebo covered with lights and a man standing there. I said to my roommates, "Aw that guy is getting engaged tonight." I had no idea that was Trace standing in the gazebo. It seriously did not register in my mind at all what was happening. As we got closer, I realized it was Trace and I started freaking out. I got out of the car and walked up the sidewalk towards Trace. After he said some sweet words to me, he asked me to marry him. Of course, I said, "YES!" After we got some pictures taken by our friend Eden, I looked through a book of pictures Trace made me from the course of our relationship. A few minutes later we headed to Trace's parents house. When we got to his parents house we were greeted by both our families and friends! I had no idea our parents and friends had spent the week decorating and planning us an engagement party! We had so much fun and we are so grateful for everyone in our life who poured into us individually and our relationship. We are so excited for this journey! P.S. If you want to watch some parts of that day, my friend Hannah made us a YouTube video! The link is: https://youtu.be/tbfv2UHZ0As
