I never thought I would find my soulmate on a dating app, but in this age of online dating, that’s exactly what happened! Jon and I came across each other’s profiles and it was a match! I was nervous, but I made the first move (only because girls have to on this app) and that’s how our fairytale began in May of 2018. I guess you could say it was love at first swipe!
At the beginning of 2020, Jon and I had a trip planned to go to Disney World over Spring Break. In true COVID fashion, our trip got postponed until later in the year when it was finally okay to travel. We ended up going the first week of September, so I just figured this was my birthday vacation. My mom, Cathy, and my step-dad, Rich, would also be at Disney that week, along with my aunt Maria and her friends. What a coincidence! The morning of the proposal, Jon and I were walking down Main Street at the Magic Kingdom with my mom and step-dad, and had plans to meet up with my aunt by Cinderella’s Castle. I noticed that Rich was recording us, (he told me it was just because he was excited to be there, but it turns out he was live streaming for the whole family to watch) and then Maria suggested we go take pictures by Cinderella’s Wishing Well- a beautiful, secluded area behind the castle. While we were taking pictures, my sister & Maid of Honor, Marisa, showed up out of nowhere, and when I turned around, Jon was down on one knee asking me to marry him. Saying “yes” to my prince charming at the wishing well at the happiest place on earth was the easiest decision I have ever made!
