It's amazing how someone you used to often and thought nothing of it could end up meaning the world to you. Jake and I actually went to the same school, he was in the grade below me. We barely talked. We never hung out. We had some mutual friends. At the time it was simply pass by each other in the school hallway. Fast forward to spring of 2020. The world was getting back to a "new normal". We first were all able to get together with friends and be out in public. Jake had reached out to me and asked if I wanted to come over for a fire he was having that weekend, so that I could finally pick up my t-shirt I had bought from him the year before to support his business. I remember being so nervous to go just because I never even hung out with him at school. I ended up going with a mutual friend and we even had a code word if I wanted to leave at anytime we were there. Safe to say that night 5 of us ended up becoming really good friends that summer and did quite a lot together. Sunday May 31st, 2020 our FIRST date! I was at my best friend's son's birthday party. I had gotten a call from Jake while I was there asking if I wanted to go to dinner with him. I can't take hints so I asked " Do you want me to let everyone know?" and he had said " I was hoping it could be just us to if that's alright" I then finally realized he was asking me on a date. He ended up having a chicken ranch wrap and I had a mountain dew since I had ate before but I still wanted to see him. From that day on I would be waking up with "Good Morning Beautiful" text messages and my whole day was made. That's when I knew we'd be more than just friends. We hung out a lot on our own & with our friend group. June 14th he asked me to be his girlfriend and well the rest is history. All I can say.. I am so happy I said yes.
