Travel Note
Since we’re getting married on Lopez Island, the ferry is your friend. We highly recommend snagging a vehicle reservation in advance. Washington State Ferries operates on a "2-month, 2-week, 2-day" release schedule. Think of it as the island version of trying to get front-row concert tickets, so you may want to set those alarms: * 2 Months Out: The first 30% of spots are released when the seasonal schedule opens. * 2 Weeks Out: Another 30% drop at 7:00 a.m. PT before your specific sailing date. * 2 Days Out: The final 30% are released at 7:00 a.m. PT. * The 10% Gamble: The remaining space is saved for emergency vehicles and brave souls attempting the standby line. A few pro tips for the crossing: * Arrival is Everything: You’ll need to check in at the tollbooth at least 30 minutes prior to your sailing, or your reservation turns into a pumpkin (and you’ll be moved to the standby line). * Walk-Ons Welcome: If the thought of a vehicle reservation stresses you out, parking at the ferry terminal and walking on is always an option. No reservations required for humans or bikes! You can secure your spot using the "View" link below.
