Our About Us story changes depending on who you ask. Some will say it started in Canada at one of Sunny’s family weddings, others will say it started very slowly in the year after that trip. Or you could say it started when Jacqui returned from her year in the UK. All are in a way correct. To go back to when we first met (sometime around 2016), Jacqui’s good friend and Sunny’s cousin Gurpreet had moved back to San Jose from Davis, California. As most twenty somethings do, we would pregame before going out on the town. This was often done at Sunny’s house, as he lived closer to downtown and had a house full of roommates who normally joined us. Thus started our friendship. In 2018, Gurpreet invited Jacqui to join her and the family on a trip to Canada for a cousins wedding. Jacqui joked that we were setting Sunny up to find a wife at the wedding, jokes on her - it worked. We got closer as friends and the three of us had a great trip. Upon returning to San Jose, they stayed friends and Sunny started to flirt with Jacqui. Jacqui won’t admit she was flirting too. Then Jacqui moved to Nottingham, England for a year. She and Sunny kept in touch throughout the year. Once she returned, due to COVID, there wasn’t a lot of going out or hanging out outside the family. Around Christmas time, they had a friends virtual Christmas party. After this Sunny decided he wanted to pursue Jacqui. We started to chat more and more, then Sunny asked Jacqui to hang out. Unsure, Jacqui agreed, and they had Aqui’s swirls in the garage. They continued to chat and have casual hangouts like this in the backyard for the next few months. Apparently by April, it was obvious to everyone there was something between them, yet Jacqui still hadn’t agreed to go on a date with Sunny. Finally, on May 13, 2021, we went on our first date. We went to Willard Hicks in Campbell and had an amazing time. Our second date was quite the adventure - we went to Topgolf, drank tequila, and sang the Beatles during the car ride home. It was perfect. It didn’t take long to know that this was forever. Now we get to take the next big step in our life together. Looking forward to celebrating with you all.
