FAQs Don't hesitate to reach out if you have a question not covered below. Our goal is for everyone to enjoy a Rustic Fall Getaway in the Adirondacks!
Question

Is the Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort on Lake Placid?

Answer

No, actually our venue overlooks Mirror Lake. Lake Placid is just a few minutes away by car or by foot.

Question

Do you have a hotel block?

Answer

Yes! We have a block reserved under the Proscia/Colavecchio Wedding at the Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort. If you plan to stay there, we recommend to reserve your room soon. The block will close on August 1, 2023.

Question

Can I book the Golden Arrow Lakeside Resort online?

Answer

You must call to book the Hotel Block. Yes we realize it is the year 2023, but we suppose placing a phone call is more aligned with our wedding sub-sub theme which is the 1990 cult classic TV show, Twin Peaks, meets the Godfather Part II. Phone number: 1-800-582-5540

Question

What are the Room Types and Rates at the Golden Arrow?

Answer

Lakefront Room with King or 2 Queens Weekday (Mon - Thurs) - $229 per night Weekend (Fri - Sun) - $319 per night Villageside Room with King or 2 Queens Weekday (Mon - Thurs) - $199 per night Weekend (Fri - Sun) - $289 per night For reference, you can book ANY room type (even rooms not held in the block) and still receive the discounted wedding rate.

Question

Is the High Falls Gorge Hike accessible for all?

Answer

Yes! There are a few different trails including one path that is ADA compliant and therefore also accessible for strollers. Plus there is a lodge that serves burgers and beers at the end of the hike!

Question

I am [insert food restriction here]. Will there be food & beverage items that I can enjoy?

Answer

Of course! We will have nut-free, dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan options available throughout our wedding weekend! And for the nut-milk-gluten-eating carnivores, we have you covered.

Question

Are children invited to the Welcome Party and Wedding Reception?

Answer

We would like everyone to be fully relaxed and present so there will be no guests below the age of 21 at the Welcome Party or Wedding Reception. Of course, everyone is invited for the full weekend, but the Welcome Party and Wedding Reception will be adults only.

Question

What is the temperature in Lake Placid in October?

Answer

Lake Placid is not far from Canada, and temperatures could range from the 60s to the 30s. Please bring cold weather clothing and layers for your wedding attire. We will have heat lamps for the timeframe outdoors, but please plan accordingly for a brisk Adirondack Autumn.

Question

How do I RSVP?

Answer

Welcome Party & Wedding - To RSVP please mail back your RSVP card from the invitation Golf & Yoga Session - To RSVP please email colavecchio.family@gmail.com and let us know which event you would like to attend Hike & Farewell Breakfast - Feel free to pop in if you would like to join

Question

What type of clothing and shoes should I wear?

Answer

Welcome Party: Casual Attire - Anything from jeans to sports jackets and casual dresses will be great. Wedding: Formal Attire - Suits and Dressy Dresses will do the trick. NOTE: Part of the day will be outside, part will be inside, so we recommend to nix the stilettos and prepare for cool weather.

Question

Is there an After Party?

Answer

Yes! It's just across the street at Zig Zags - and open till 3am. The location requires an ID, so please bring it with you to the wedding so you're ready to go!

Question

Do I need to bring my ID to the Wedding and After Party?

Answer

The After Party Location requires IDs, so please bring them to the reception so you are ready to keep the party going!

Question

Is it true that the term "vacation" originated in the Adirondacks?

Answer

Why yes, I'm glad you asked! The word "vacation" did originate in the Adirondacks. What do you do when it gets too hot in the city - potentially head to the lake or the ocean? Because that’s exactly what New Yorkers and Bostonians did more than a hundred years ago; they swapped the humid heat of the city for the fresh mountain air. They vacated or fled the city. And so the word, “vacation" came to be. We're so excited to vacate with you!
