After attending a wonderful Sunday Service at Living Water Church, Jacquelyn went back north to Evans, Colorado. Moving onto the back porch to read in the beautiful October weather, she received a message from her sister, Kiah. "Are you interested in going on a date with someone?" The first question Jacquelyn asked was, "Is he a Christian?" After a positive response, she said, "I trust you, so yeah, I'd do that for you." Little did she know it would be one of the best decisions she would ever make. First, at 24 to truly give her life to Christ, second to agree to that date, and then fifteen months later to agree to be his wife - and become a fossil with Mr. T. A week later, Jacquelyn arrived minutes late to the Mimi's Cafe in Loveland, CO. Nervous, she texted Kiah to let her know she'd arrived. Kiah said, "Great, he's there too." So, she went to the desk and told the hostess she was on a blind date. The hostess showed her to an empty table. Jacquelyn settled into the seat, and waited only moments. While love at first sight wasn't in the cards for her that moment, by the end of the night she was pretty sure she may have met the man she'd waited 29 years for, and she was right. As she would write six weeks later, she couldn't have written a better man.
Will is not a "Valentine's Guy", and so Jacquelyn knew they were going to go out on their date the Saturday before. She warned him days in advance, "We might need to go out earlier, because everybody is going to think Sunday night will be crazy." He agreed saying, "I have a day planned." "Oh, really," she asked, "What are we doing?" "Stuff and things," he said with a smirk. And so the days passed, and Saturday morning arrived. Jacquelyn woke up before William, rolled over and asked him when she needed to be ready. He tucked her against his chest, ensuring a few more minutes of sleep. When they finally awoke, about eight o'clock that morning, William told Jacquelyn, "There is something in this basement you want." Her eyes grew large, because in her heart she knew he could only be talking about one thing. But no, not the day before Valentine's. That would be cheesy. He wouldn't! Would he? She hopped out of bed, and with a laugh William began to play the warmer/colder game. She went towards one closet, and he said, "Colder." She went towards the other, and he said, "Warmer." She opened it, and leaned one direction. Colder. She went the other and noticed an opening in between two books. "Fuego," he said, and she reached up. There was a wooden box tucked in the back, and as she stepped away he took the box from her. Dropping to his knee he said, "Jacquelyn Vick, I would be honored and blessed if you would become my wife." "Yes," she said, looking at the beautiful London Blue Topaz ring sitting in the box. She tried to play it off like she was looking at the cute inscription in the dragon and dice box, Mrs. T become a fossil with me. The stuff and things turned into a brunch, visiting his mother, and seeing a huge portion of her family that day. It was a beautiful morning, and no matter what else came that day, this is true. William and Jacquelyn will be together for worse or for better.
