We met at a Birthday party for a mutual friend that we were both invited to. I was to arrive late for the dinner so I gave my order in ahead of time. As I arrived the waitress was giving my brown rice to Scott. The waitress quickly grabbed the rice from him and said "that's not for you!" She gave it to me and I gave it back to him to enjoy. ( I didn't need the extra carbs haha!) After dinner, a few of us continued the birthday festivities at a local bar. I asked my cousin Kim who he was and mentioned that he was cute, he did the same to his cousin Rob. When the night came to an end Scott walked me to my car, cleaned the snow off for me, and asked for my number. I of course gave it to him. He texted me when he got home, we talked all night and the rest is history. 5 Years later and we are getting married!!
We were invited to Rob's softball at Wantagh Park by his wife Kim. Scott called to say we were going to the game early. He was going to pick up Rob and Kim and then he would get me to go to the game. I was in the middle of cleaning my room so I didn't want to go early, so I gave him a hard time. Good thing I ended up going with them! When we arrived Kim said she wanted to go for a walk around the park, so the four of us started walking down toward the water. When we got to "the spot" Scott got down on one knee and proposed to me, and I of course said YES! He had a photographer waiting to capture every moment. I called my mom no answer, my siblings no answer, then they said lets go get something to eat and have everyone meet us there. I wanted to go home and change but they wouldn't let me! We started to drive and Scott stopped and said he had to go to the bathroom, which if anyone knows Scott he doesn't take bathroom breaks on car rides, especially short ones! We got out of the car and all of my closest friends and family were waiting to congratulate us! He thought every detail out and made for a perfect Sunday afternoon! Way better than cleaning my room!!!
Thank you for saving our wedding date(s). Unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions we were forced to decrease the number of guests at our reception. It was a heartbreaking situation that we never dreamed we would have to experience. I hope you understand and know that we truly adore everyone we invited to our wedding. However, we are permitted to have a larger number of guests at the church ceremony. We would love to see you there to share our special day in some way. Please join us as we celebrate the sacrament of holy matrimony at St. James on 6/4/21 at 2 p.m.. Love Always, Jacquelyn & Scott
