We met in a bar beneath the Upper East Side apartment that we still reside in after almost ten glorious years. This notorious bar was called, The Honky Tonk (RIP). It was Matthew's birthday, August 19, 2012. Matt was new to the city and visiting his dear friend, Paul Mooney, who tended bar at the Honky Tonk. Meanwhile, Jac, who had just been stood up at brunch by a guy she was dating, went to the same bar to drown her sorrows and also visit with her dear friend, Paul Mooney. Long story short, we were introduced, and over the next couple of months we were inseparable. By December 2012, Jac proposed to Matt in the same bar where they first met, while playing a shoot 'em up deer hunting arcade game, and on February 1, 2013, during Winter Storm Nemo, we tied the knot at New York's finest, City Hall.
Ten years ago we decided to spend the rest of our lives together, and to be honest, it was probably one of the only good decisions we made at the time. From the bottom of our hearts, we are still so very sorry that no one was really invited to our impromptu original wedding at City Hall (kids do the darndest things, right?), which is why we think it's due time to make it up to everyone and party with you like it's our big day. So, finally, the time has come, and we can't wait to celebrate ten years of marriage with all of our nearest and dearest, who have been our friends, our rocks, our support and sounding boards throughout the years. We thank you xx
