Some back story first! Brendan was attending the University of Utah, where he was in his second year of playing with the Utah Drumline. During his time in the drumline, he met one of his now groomsmen, Andrew Ortega. Jacquelyn attended BYU, where she roomed with her best friend, Kylie Jensen, Andrew's girlfriend. Kylie invited Jacquelyn to an upcoming football game at the U, where they could watch the game, as well as the band. At the Utah vs. Cal State Football game, October 26th, 2019, Brendan and Jacquelyn first saw each other at a pre-game cookout. Saying nothing more than a passing hello to each other, Brendan had no idea of Jacquelyn's interest as she watched him perform in the courtyard of the stadium. After Andrew passed this info onto Brendan, he was pleasantly surprised! After learning of their mutual interest, Brendan and Jacquelyn exchanged numbers and talked back and forth. They had their first date (and kiss) on December 2nd, 2019 hiking the Y trail in Provo. About one month later, one day after Jacquelyn's birthday, Brendan asked her to be his girlfriend on January 5th, 2020. From there, the rest is history!
