After years of praying that we would find each other, God finally answered that prayer in bringing us together on December 30, 2022, but our story started a little before then....In July 2022, Jason stumbled upon Jacqueline's profile on a dating site and thought wow, this girl is looking for me. Unfortunately, Jacqueline had not been on the site for months and had just forgotten to delete her profile. Jason left Jacqueline a message praying that maybe she would discover it someday and contact him on Facebook. Months passed and after lots of prayer, Jacqueline decided to try the site one last time. She saw Jason's message and decided to contact him, and so began the adventures of J2 (J squared). Our journey together across 1,500 miles has encompassed hundreds of hours on the phone talking, praying, and laughing together every night, and treasuring the moments that we spend together in person. These moments include attending church together, countless picnics everywhere we go, tandem bike rides, hikes in the woods with campfires and s'mores, hours spent riding on the tractors and the combine, canoeing in Florida, blackberry picking and adventures with Becky and Brian in Washington, dancing wherever we hear music whether it be in the kitchen or in the aisle in the farm and country store, board games and card games, and so much more. Jason proposed at the family cabin by the pond on November 17, 2023. He grilled that night and then after a game of Yahtzee he disappeared and returned with a huge wooden heart he had made with the words "Will you marry me" and two little wooden signs that said "yes" and "no". Of course Jacqueline chose the "yes" sign. :) Our adventure took an unexpected turn when Jacqueline experienced some health issues, difficulty arose, and we canceled the wedding. In the midst of this difficult season in our lives, we never stopped praying. As Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." God saw us through this time and Jason proposed again on March 2, 2025. This time he carved the question into a tree in the woods behind his house where we spend a lot of time together (see the marquee on the home page for a photo). We feel so blessed to have each other and for God to be at the center of our relationship. That's our story and we are so excited to have family and friends join us as we continue our journey together on August 2, 2025.
