William's Perspective: How we met

There are a lot of reasons not to go to a math lecture in college... Bascom Hill blizzards, Kollege Klub grilled cheese, and David Caruso one-liners to name a few. But why go to a lecture when you can ask the TA all your questions during the mandatory breakout class? Great plan, except, there was a certain teacher's pet who would shoot me death glare's every time I asked a great question. Wouldn’t have been a bother if she wasn’t so damn cute, but CSI Miami wasn’t going to solve those mysteries without me. Summer break, a semester later, and look who’s hanging outside my fraternity house - none other than teacher’s pet! Well, time heals all wounds, and death glares aside, she’s too pretty not to try and get her number. Mission successful - I text her the next day to see if she wants to grab a drink; turns out she not spending the summer on campus and is already home (a small detail she left out when we were talking all of yesterday)... Fast forward to that fall and I run into her at our formal…not with me. Time to do something bold! A date! But this girl wouldn't fall for just anything, so I had to think outside the box. Next thing I know, we are off to buy our first plant together. Yes, a plant, in my infinite wisdom that was the best course of action. Well, I lived to tell the tale and that little love fern did its job.

Jackie's Perspective: How we met

Frat boys...the boys you love to hate and hate to love. A well-dressed William catches my eye one day in math lecture. It's halfway through the semester and I've never seen him before. He's hard to miss in his pastel yellow shorts with his cute curly locks. A few days later I notice him in my TA class. Of course I've never noticed him before because he's that guy who sits in the way back, rarely engaging in class discussion. In this particular class, we're preparing for an upcoming exam and Will is rather vocal. It's almost like I'm watching a private tutoring session. He fires off, what feels like, a million and one questions. A million and one dumb questions. Oh god - I have a crush on an idiot. Fast forward to the summer and I'm visiting my friend Tay, when I find out that she's become good friends with the SAE boys. We head over to the SAE house and I see some of Will's friends, but no Will. I make Tay inquire about his whereabouts, and 30 minutes later, him and I are deep in conversation. Hmmm maybe he's not an idiot after all? Crap, I really like this guy. And he can actually hold a conversation about something other than badger football?! This boy might be my own prince charming. When I get back to school in the Fall, he's all I can think about. When will I run into him? Will he be in any of my classes? One afternoon, I'm walking down Langdon and see him across the street. We wave and keep walking. Talk about butterflies. The next day I get a text from him. Finally! He asks me if I want to help him pick out a plant. A plant? Is this guy a hippie? Whatever, he's a cute hippie. Little did I know a date to a nursery would change my life forever. And I'm glad it did.
