All Guests must bring proof of vaccination.

All guests are required by local NYC legislation and the venue to be fully vaccinated. We have been told by the venue that all guests will be required to show proof of full vaccination. This can be either a physical card or one of many digital vaccination cards that your medical provider might have shared with you. If you don't have proof of vaccination on wedding day you will not be allowed to join in the festivities. Please reach out if there are any questions or concerns with this update. We hope this note helps you feel more comfortable with the environment of the festivities and know that we're excited to celebrate the wedding together with you on the 2nd!

Depending on who you ask, the story of how we met may vary

In summer 2013, we competed in Israel for team USA in the World Maccabiah Games – Jewish Olympics – Jacquie on Basketball and Steve on the Track and Field team. We met at the B’nai Mitzvah event in Jerusalem. Now the debate starts. Steve claims he saw Jacquie in the dessert line and asked the flavors of gelato. Jacquie claims that she went up to Steve and the dessert was sorbet, since gelato isn’t Kosher. Regardless, they immediately bonded over their height and love of food. Next is an even crazier tale. We were on different teams in different cities so we barely saw each other, but on the last night of the trip Jacquie met Steve at a Club in Tel Aviv. We took shots with Amare Stoudemire and had our very first kiss in front of Steve’s sister, Abby. As fate would have it, the Lavitt’s happened to be visiting California on vacation. We were able to see each other a few times, but it was unclear when we would be together next. With Jacquie from New York and Steve from California it made a future together seem impossible. Jacquie was off to start her college career as a high jumper at Towson University and Steve was already competing as a thrower at Wake Forest University. Luckily, we got to compete at the same spring break track meet. Steve won discus and Jacquie jumped her personal best, coincidence? We think not. From then on, we made the impossible, possible. Between 6 hr car rides, practices, schoolwork and partying, we were able to keep a spark in our long distance relationship for those 2.5 years. After Steve graduated, we went from being 396 miles to 2,819 miles apart. Never knowing when we would see each other next we would say, “we’ll figure it out, we always do.” With no surprise, we figured it out. Jacquie drove across the country after graduation to live in a place she never thought she’d end up in, Portland, OR. Now living in Los Angeles, we are ready to tie the knot and are so excited to celebrate with those who’ve supported our crazy love story.
