We’re getting married!

Nick and Jacqueline’s story began at Nordstrom; a modern day romance. At the time, Nick worked in men’s and women’s shoes, while Jacqueline worked upstairs in women’s clothing. On Jacqueline’s very first night closing by herself, she was tasked with doing “go backs,” which would have been simple if she had actually known where anything belonged. After accidentally returning shoes to the wrong spot, she was quickly corrected by Nick, who took his shoe department responsibilities very seriously. Jacqueline, unimpressed, responded with her usual wit and sarcasm before walking away. Unable to stop thinking about the funny, gorgeous, dazzling, charismatic girl from upstairs, Nick later made his way to Jacqueline’s department to apologize and properly introduce himself. The two quickly became friends, spending more and more time together between shifts at Nordstrom. As their friendship grew, so did their daily moments together. Jacqueline shared with Nicholas a theory that suggests humans need 4 hugs a day for survival, 8 for maintenance, and 12 for growth. It quickly became their thing. Throughout the workday, they made it a habit to visit each other’s departments whenever they could, quietly keeping count as they worked toward their goal of 12 hugs a day. What began as playful visits and shared laughter across departments gradually grew into something much deeper. In the in-between moments of busy shifts, late-night closings, and always finding each other somewhere on the sales floor, Nick and Jacqueline discovered a connection that felt both unexpected and completely meant to be. Over the years, they’ve navigated multiple career changes, three apartment moves, and all the ups and downs of adulthood together. Through it all, their relationship has always been rooted in friendship, laughter, and love. Six years later, they are so excited to begin this next chapter and celebrate with all of the people they love most.
