Our story began in 2009 in 10th grade English when we were asked to sit in alphabetical order. Kevin, although shy, somehow had the courage to poke fun at Jacqueline each day. 1.5 years later after ditching multiple high school dances to just hang out and sit at Sonic or at the park, Kevin finally asked Jacqueline out. The rest is history…

On our trip to Florida in 2018 Kevin, his Aunt Sheila, and Jacqueline went to Moss State Park for an afternoon of geocaching. Sheila pretended the entire trip her Camelbak was broken so she could dig around in her bag. The 3rd geocache in was the spot. Kevin misinterpreted Sheila thinking the fake geocache was in place, and started to bring Jacqueline back. Sheila ran right in front of them and threw the fake geocache into the tree for Jacqueline to find before she could notice. Low and behold the tree contained the largest spider web ever, and Jacqueline proclaimed “I am NOT getting that.” Kevin pulled out the fake geocache and proceeded to hand Jacqueline a piece of paper. She ignored and pulled out a ring box from Meierotto’s, a local KC jeweler, and was confused why the box was there. Kevin took it out of her hand and proceeded to propose. She was so surprised and said YES!

Both of us attended The University of Missouri Science and Technology and majored in both Civil and Architectural Engineering in 2017. Kevin is now a structural engineer for JEI Structural Engineering and Jacqueline an engineer for Turner Construction. We have two dogs Riley and Nova and just got our first home. 10 years later we are ready to get married!
