FAQs

Question

Are masks required?

Answer

The mandatory mask mandate in Manitou Springs has been lifted as of 2/8/22. Due to the nature of the pandemic this could change at any time. Regardless of mask mandates I encourage you to bring a mask just in case.

Question

What should I wear? Is there a dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal/cocktail attire. Due to the unpredictable nature of Colorado weather (especially in Spring!) we do recommend bringing an additional layer (jacket, sweater, etc.) with you.

Question

What is the weather like in May.

Answer

The temperature in May can vary drastically so I recommend being prepared for anything! The average high is about 70 and the average low roughly 43F. Because spring in Colorado is unpredictable rain or snow is possible even into late May. Have jackets/sweaters handy and an umbrella.

Question

Where is the reception taking place?

Answer

The reception is taking place at the same location, The Cradtwood Inn, after the ceremony.

Question

Is smoking allowed?

Answer

Yes, there is a designed smoking area outside.

Question

I'll be in town a few days, anything I should do?

Answer

I'm so glad you have the extra time to spend in beautiful Colorado Springs! you are here at a great time, as the busy season typically begins after memorial day. I highly recommend visiting the Garden of the Gods, shopping in Manitou Springs and Old Colorado City, and visiting Cheyannw Mountain Zoo! For more recommendations please see the "things to do" tab.

Question

is the ceremony and reception indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will take place outdoors unless there in inclement weather, in which case it will be indoors. The reception will also be indoors. The ceremony will take place in the patio area of the Craftwood Inn. Everything is paved so no hiking necessary 😀

Question

What happens after the ceremony?

Answer

After the ceremony, the bridal party will be taking pictures nearby for around an hour.  Guests can head straight to the reception hall where we will be serving finger foods and beverages.

Question

What should I do if I can't make it?

Answer

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

We recommend arriving up to a half hour early to the ceremony, so at 3pm.

Question

Where should I park? Is parking free?

Answer

The Craftwood Inn has ample free parking, there is parking directly in front of the building, and if that area is full there is a large parking lot just before you exit.

Question

Are children welcome?

Answer

Yes the kids are welcome to come!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Yes! Please list the additional guest on your RSVP. If it is a guest that wasn't listed listed on your RSVP we regrettably won't be able to accommodate them. Please make sure yourself and all guests are added on your RSVP.

Question

Will food and drinks be served at the reception?

Answer

Absolutely! You will be given a choice of meal when you RSVP. Appetizers will be available after the ceremony, and of course there will be cake! We will also have a cash bar.

Question

Does cash bar mean they don't accept cards?

Answer

Nope! The Bartender will also accept credit or debit cards.

Question

Can I take pictures? Can I post them on social media?

Answer

Yes, we encourage guests to post pictures on to their social media channels, our only request is that you tag Jackie or Kevin in each photo so we can keep track of all of your pictures!

Question

Anything else I should know?

Answer

Altitude sickness is very real if you are traveling out of state! Water will be your best friend! Make sure you always stay well hydrated!! Also due to the elevation you can get sunburned very quickly without realizing it. Please be prepared and bring sunblock with you.
