Christopher & Jacqui met through the Zurich Apprenticeship program, which they joined in 2016 & 2017 respectively. He had met this second year cohort on a few occasions and had definitely noticed Jacqui, but it would be some time before they could connect. Coincidentally, they each independently decided to use their newly found "adult money" to buy the same car, a Subaru WRX. Once informed, Christopher was on a mission. And so they chatted; casual work banter, next modifications for their cars, etc. Jacqui began to think Christopher would make a great friend, so she chose to stay late & cover phones one Friday with him. The rest is history. Nah, not really. The rest took a while. So there they were, the only two left in the office. Suddenly, Jacqui's head pops up over a cubicle wall. "Hey, do you listen to Metal?" A few minutes later, that same bright smile appears in the gloom of the Zurich bullpen. "Do you watch anime?" And so their lives were interwoven. A few chance encounters at post-work hangouts, increasingly frequent "accidental" run-ins at the water cooler, and then, she invited him to her family's Christmas Eve party - mind you, she was kidding when she invited him - I mean, they had only been friends a couple months, who would say yes? Christopher would. And thus, began a long friendship. He finally told her he liked her in the middle of the "Bet On It" scene in High School Musical 2, but Jacqui wasn't interested - they were just friends after all. Christopher did not give up. Eventually Jacqui finally began to grow feelings for Christopher (the feelings were always there). She planned a date - a picnic. She made Greek Chicken Wraps, a picnic cake, and packed chips & fruit. And after that day, she was sure she was done being friends. October came around and after they headed downtown for a Halloween date, he asked her to be his girlfriend. She said yes, they moved to Batavia together, they had a baby, and said "What the heck! Let's get married at Grand Teton National Park".
