Andrew and I met on his first day working at WinCo, May 21st 2021. From that day forward, he was hooked. Andrew had tried to develop a plan to charm me, however he ran into a few complications: I was in a relationship and I was a part of the management team, making me one of his bosses. Though these two facts would imply Andrew's efforts were going to be entirely fruitless, as the work weeks went on we found that, from the very beginning, conversation felt effortless, laughter followed naturally, and an unmistakable connection formed. After 14 months of working together everyday I transferred to another store and we were no longer coworkers. Andrew asked me almost every day to hangout with him but I was playing "hard to get". After about a week of me brushing him off Andrew decided to take matters into his own hands and drive down to Eugene to meet me in the parking lot of my job to say "hi". After we chatted for a bit he invited me to go to Cabela's with him so he could pick up a few things he needed, I agreed. After we walked around Cabela's for a bit, and Andrew still had yet to buy anything, he invited me to dinner, and I agreed. When we pulled into the parking lot of Outback Steakhouse, I realized Andrew had tricked me into going on our first date. Andrew is nothing if not cunning, charming, and kind, he has always been the person I needed in every phase of my life; whether that meant being my best friend and listening to me rant on a long shift together, offer me advice when I needed it most, or being a love-struck boy who could trick me into going on a date. December 13th 2025, Andrew proposed in Sunriver, where we made the decision to spend our lifetime loving each other. We are beyond excited to step into this next chapter of our lives together with all of you there to celebrate with us!
In October of 2025, I made the biggest purchase of my life- an engagement ring for Jacoy. After making this purchase, I quickly realized that I had NO idea how to hide something from Jacoy, let alone something so monumental. Before I had even received the ring in the mail, I knew I had to tell someone, or I would go insane. While out for an evening with Matthew, my best man, and Natali, Jacoy's maid of honor, I told them both that I had purchased the ring and that I planned to propose in mid-December. Alas, my loose lips did not stop there. When the ring arrived in early November, I was ecstatic. I sent a picture to Matthew, Natali, and Hannah, Jacoy's other bridesmaid. A couple of days later, I showed my parents the ring, and told them about my plan to propose to Jacoy while they were on vacation. I also told them I would be asking for Kurtis' blessing in the very near future. On Monday, November 24th 2025, I worked my last shift for WinCo foods. On Tuesday November 25th, I went out for lunch with Kurtis, and asked him for his blessing. Although we were at lunch for over an hour, my nerves and the conversation prevented me from "popping the question" until we were walking out of the restaurant. Kurtis gave me his blessing, and I told him I planned to propose while Jacoy and I were in Sunriver. Now, the planning could start. I texted Natali, asking if she could be there for the proposal, and if she could take pictures. She said she would be there, and now I just had to figure out how the heck I was going to propose. After looking at hikes in the area, searching for the perfect romantic event, and looking at all of the nice restaurants, I decided the best place and time to propose was first thing in the morning on our first day in Sunriver. I booked the nicest hotel room I could find, which had a patio and a great view. As soon as I walked in the room, I knew I had found the perfect spot. Now I just had to make it through the next 12 hours without giving it away to Jacoy. Easier said than done. Early the morning of December 13th, I made an excuse to leave the hotel room, and I met Natali outside the hotel. Jacoy told me she would take a bath and get ready, and then we could drink coffee on the patio before going out for the day. My plan was working perfectly, I would propose in the sun while we both drank coffee, all dressed up for a day of strolling around Sunriver. I had Natali hide in some bushes across a narrow canal, and wait. And we kept waiting, and waiting.... and waiting. Jacoy was on her own schedule, we were on a romantic vacation. About an hour later, Jacoy walked out of the bathroom and began to walk toward the sliding glass door. To my horror, I glanced over and saw Natali very visible through the window. I texted her just in time for her to hide before Jacoy made it to the door. Jacoy finished getting ready, and I nervously made our coffee. We walked into the freezing air, and I could feel the hefty weight of the ring box pushing against my back pocket. Jacoy sat down, and I stayed standing. I don't remember exactly what I said, which is probably a good thing, but I do remember what Jacoy said: "Yes". I am so excited to marry Jacoy, and I am so thankful for the many loved ones we will have by our side when we say "I Do". Thank you to everyone who reads this for the love and support you have shown Jacoy and I. Much Love, Andrew.
