The Wedding Website of Jessica Jacoby and Andrew Haack
Meet our family and friends who are walking down the aisle with us!

Julie Krause

Maid of Honor

Jess and Julie first met in September of 2004 due to their mutual indecisiveness. They both found themselves as part of sorority rush, and could not decide which house to join! The last two in the computer lab to make their selections (lolz), they were tempted to reveal their preference, but decided to play by the rules and keep mum. Sure enough, the next day, they both ran through the doors of AGD! And the rest is history. Besties, roommates, and even ketchup & mustard - these Js share affinity for cats, food, travel, and peppering tour guides with questions :)

Taylor Haack

Best Man

Taylor is Andrew’s older brother and only sibling. The two were born 23 months apart and spent their childhood years doing everything together. Andrew was always the comedian while Taylor was the serious child. Andrew would either make Taylor laugh or annoy him enough for Taylor to bop him before their dad broke it up. The two are just as close today as they were 30 years ago. Andrew was Taylor’s best man for his wedding. Those in attendance still say his best man speech was the best they’ve heard.

Lindsay Dausch

Bridesmaid

We officially met on AGD bid day 2004 but quickly discovered we had grown up not too far from one another and both had a love of musical theater. We had actually seen each other in separate productions of Footloose we had both starred in while in high school. While our friendship has spanned sharing one room with six girls in the sorority house, traveling to Asia and many wild nights in Chicago in recent years Jess took on an important role as Godmother to my son, Bennett. One of the highlights in 2020 (and 2021 too) was our dinners together at my condo where Jess would always bring a sweet treat and help with the bath and bedtime routine followed by time for us just to sit and catch-up.

Christian Schwind

Groomsman

Friendships are awesome. Long nights, important conversations, road trips and so much more... all despite an underlying conflict regarding who should sit atop the NL Central. Andrew Carl Haack is a friend for the ages. If you ever wonder "How far does Andy go for his friends?" I would answer that he allows them to sleep on an air mattress in his living room for 3 months when life throws you an uncle charlie. While that might have been a low point in Andy's life, it was a high point in mine because I realized this is a friendship that will last. There are countless other memories since then all building to the day that I get to give away my best friend to his "other" best friend... and I can't wait! Love ya buddy!

Stacy Smet

Bridesmaid

Stacy met Jess freshman year during sorority rush at Illinois Wesleyan. A highlight from those early days was Jess having to go through rush with a chipped tooth after slipping in the dorm bathroom while running around with a tissue box on her head. Stacy fell in love with her sense of humor and vibrant personality and their friendship continued to grow through the years after they both joined AGD and then spent time living life in Chicago as young adults. In 2020, Jess was the officiant at Stacy’s wedding (not even a pandemic was going to slow down their friendship!) and now Stacy gets to return the favor as Jess’s bridesmaid.

Doug Appel

Groomsman

It has been an absolute pleasure to have met Andrew in college and remain friends until this day. I have spent countless hours laughing with Andrew over the years, and it brings me great joy to witness the laughs shared by Andrew and Jessica. These two are truly soulmates. It was immediately evident how serious this relationship was and how passionate Andrew was about Jessica. The two share so much of their great personalities, and are so respectful of each others’ differences. I’m so excited for the wedding and to watch these two take on the world and share adventures with one another in the future. Love you both! Cheers!

Sara Rivera

Bridesmaid

Sara and Jessica were serendipitously paired together as freshman roommates at IWU in Gulick Hall and became friends immediately. They quickly bonded over a love of musicals, which they could be heard belting down the hallways of the "Gritty Gu" on their way to the AGD sorority house. Jess would eventually become the most amazing maid of honor for Sara's wedding to Marcelino (a Gulick Hall RA!) and over the years, Auntie Jess (as she's known to Sara's kids) has shown what a dedicated friend she is as she travels to wherever the Rivera clan is living, whether it's snowy Minnesota or lush, charming suburban Indianapolis where they currently reside. Sara and Marcelino are over the moon excited for their dear friend and her lucky fiance, and look forward to hijacking the reception with some impromptu Disney duets to express their love.

Groomsman

I moved to Chicago in early 2016 and reached out to my company to see if anyone had any interest in joining a softball team in the city. One of the first to respond with a resounding yes was a man by the name of Andrew Haack. He introduced himself as “Andy” and I have called him that ever since. I realized quickly that Andy had much of the same sports and humor interests that I had. We continued hanging out, playing sports, attending Cubs games, and having one or two beers every now and then…some nights we’d have three, what a hoot. I feel truly blessed to have a friend like Andy in my life, and I’m honored to be a part of his special day in his marriage to Jess. Andy and I have had some great times together and can’t wait for more to come!

Roberto Restrepo

Usher

Berto will always remember 2017, the year Andrew walked through the doors of S&C Electric, the day he met his work bestie. Andrew and Berto hit it off immediately quoting The Office, making fun of their colleagues, and sharing lots of inside jokes. Through the years Berto and Andrew have shared a mutual love for sandwiches and Chicago sports. Andrew went from work bestie to Crazy Cousin Andrew. Berto couldn’t be happier that Andrew met Jess and can finally enjoy Lincoln Park Zoo Lights with his better half.

Jason Jacoby

Usher

Jessica and I met after our Mom decided to get pregnant once again (despite having a perfect first-born) and I welcomed my sister into this world! Despite feeling the crushing blow of not being the center of attention anymore, Jessica was super cute, had an extremely high voice as a baby, was bald until 3 years old, so I had clearly no reason not to love this new addition. Over the next 35 years we adventured with road trips and world travels with the family, enjoyed wonderful meals together, epic summers at the lakehouse, directed music videos while the parents were out and performed dramatic plays for holiday guests, got in fights, had each other backs, and persevered through life's ups and downs together. Around the age of 9, Jessica became devoutly religious. So religious, in fact, that she felt the need to wash away the sins of her guinea pig through the sacrament of baptism. It was a frigid and holy day in January when the sacrament was to take place, and Shapoopi (the guinea pig), was placed into a cardboard box and walked over neighbor's house. Prayers were said, holy water was poured over the pig, and its soul was cleansed. A wet and born again Shapoopi was then transported back home through the bitter cold, and sadly, caught pneumonia and died the next day. Its soul departed for heaven, and Jessica's faith has never been the same. I love you, little sister!

Sam Fitzgerald

Officiant

Sam & Andy met one fateful night as Freshman at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Sam's affinity for Cubs hats was all Andy needed to see amongst a sea of Northern Wisconsin & Minnesota raised college kids. The two became fast friends at school and spent many nights together bouncing around La Crosse, but always stopping at the upstairs of the Helm & ending at Bennett’s. In 2017, Sam finally joined Andy in Chicago and the two continued their friendship. Sam was also an instrumental part of Andy & Jessica's meet cute, serving as the middleman between the two of them (albeit one who struggled with following directions).
