Our Happy Ever After Begins Here

Due to the ever changing rules of covid-19, the 2K + miles between our family and friends and the location of the ceremony, and the fact that it will be on a Tuesday, Matt and Julie have decided to elope and celebrate the union of their families in other ways.

It was a glorious Michigan winter afternoon and they both had just started the spring semester at Western Michigan University. They had both signed up to take Dynamics at Parkview Engineering Campus. Matt's story goes that he saw her and knew he had to get to know her, there was just something special about this red head. Julie's story goes that he sat in the row in front of her and didn't know how to keep quiet. It took a few years for their paths to truly cross one another's but once they realized they were two peas in a pod there was no going back.

During a trip back home to Michigan these two love birds went out for a date night downtown Kalamazoo (yes there really is a Kalamazoo). During the December timeframe the City of Kalamazoo puts on quite show at Bronson Park between all the decorations and the lights which requires one to take pictures. It’s a photo opp must. Since these two are used to carting around the camera and the tripod it was not surprising that they were taking photos while sipping on some hot cocoa and enjoying the lights. After being chilled to the bone they decided to take a few minutes and warm back up and in doing so they decided to change locations and go see what the downtown Mall had to offer. Taking a stroll down Devisser Alley they noticed this year the city had put up a magnificent wreath about 10’ tall. They took their photos and moved on to just the regular view of Devisser Alley. Where they then proceeded to attempt some action shots. After failing miserably at jumping for a photo (see photos page) Matt set up the camera to take one last set of photos and to Julie’s surprise, he got down on one knee. (and she said yes 😊)
