Sleeping Bear Dunes is a National Lakeshore and is one of our favorite places to hike. There is a scenic drive you can do through the park which allows you to get out at various overlooks. The highlight of the park is a fun and quick run/jump down the dune followed by a brutal ascent from the shore of Lake Michigan back to the top. If you are looking for a challenge we encourage you to try, but it is NOT EASY so please be careful. Make sure you put "Sleeping Bear Dunes Overlook" into your GPS, otherwise you may get taken to the wrong location. There is also the nearby Sleeping Bear Dunes Climb you can check out if you have less time.
Our favorite and sandiest beach in the area. It features great views of the North and South Manitou Islands, the first of which Leah use to lead camping trips on as a tripper at Tamarack.
The original Cherry Republic! This location includes a restaurant, bar, ice cream shop, and all the samples you can dream of.
Jacob and Leah's favorite spot for a burger and an Oberon after hiking the dunes.
Great spot for coffee and baked goods with a cute back deck right on the river. Jacob always has to stop for a loaf of their sourdough before heading back down south.
