We had been dating for four full years, long enough for Jacob to know that she was “The One”. He had known for a while, but hadn’t quite built up the courage to ask a question he had already known the answer to. In attendance to the Longoria Family reunion, Jacob knew would host a lot of Selina’s immediate and extended family and would be the perfect setting to propose. Moments before, Jacob had to speak with J.D. and Liam, wanting their approval. He wanted to know if J.D. wanted him as his Stepdad and if Liam wanted Selina to be his Stepmom. Both boys nodded with such emphasis that they looked like bobble heads. He had now received the green light from all of the important parties. Jacob had already requested Coach Artie to give him a few minutes on the microphone in the rec hall as he was making announcements but when the time came, he looked around for Selina’s parents, and her Dad was nowhere to be found. So he had to adapt and look for a lull in the horseshoe tournament. As David (Selina’s brother) and Jacob were in the middle of the Horses hoes (Pilar LOL) Tournament and as usual David was organizing and keeping the teams moving. A lull finally came and Jacob pulled Selina and both boys to the center of the tournament and again asked both boys for their approval. He doesn’t remember what he had said but he does remember ending with getting on one knee and, “Will you marry me?”. She cried, nodded and said, “YES!”. It was perfect! Jacob got the girl and he and David went on win the horseshoe tournament undefeated.
