Wedding Party

Shoshana Douer

Mother of the Bride

Sagit's ima was born in Israel to a Yemenite family. She was a nurse, raised 3 kids, and is an amazing cook. Sagit has wonderful memories of sitting with her ima after a party, when everyone was gone and the work was done, sharing some tea, some leftover food, and time together. In spite of some of the hardship they faced in Israel, Shoshana instilled a sense of right and wrong in each of her children, a love for Israel, and was a very dedicated working mother. Shoshana is well known for her warmth, hugs, love for her family and her love of celebrating simchas.

Dr. Dani Douer

Father of the Bride

Sagit's aba was born in the beautiful city of Haifa, israel. He served in the IDF during the 6 Day War, The Yom Kippur War, and the war with Lebanon as a physician and became a renowned hematologist. He taught his kids the value of hard work and to do things in life well enough that it will be around to benefit following generations. Dani may be a well respected researcher but he is even more loved as an aba and a saba.

Miriam Ackermann

Mother of the Groom

My mom was never afraid to take us out of school and travel, let us experience the world and gain new perspectives. I saw many more museums and plays than my peers and I am grateful. We still love to share theater and dinner together. I am so glad to have her to walk me down the aisle, for her generosity, and for her loving-kindness toward Sagit. Save me a dance, mom.

Dr. David Ackerrmann

Father of the Groom

Dear Dad, I wish you were here too to walk me down the aisle with Mom. I can't say for sure what you would think but I hope that you would love Sagit as much as I do and welcomed another daughter-in-law. Your memory is with me on this special day, within all of me, as I stand under the Huppah and join my hands with my beloved. My prayer is that you are looking down and are proud to see our Jewish wedding and family. I love you, Dad.

Andrea Davidson

Matron of Honor

We met at Temple Menorah 9 years ago and have been through thick and thin. We have been raising our kids together. We laughed together, and we cried together She stood by my side when no else one will. She is loyal, determined, loving, and has always had my back. I love her like a sister and I look forward to our future adventures together.

Elana Zisser

Matron of Honor

We met at Ner Tamid and fast became friends. Elana is one of the most supportive, loving, and kind people in our life. She welcomed us to her home and her heart.

Craig Colin Parks

Best Man

My best-friend since 7th grade. We haven't always lived near each other but always managed to stay in touch. Sometimes someone is just a special person to you throughout life, a touchstone, and Craig is that to me. Yach mala!

Simon David Ackermann

Groomsman

What can a father say about his son...believe me too much to write here. What a kid and our lives are never boring with Simon. He is kindhearted, loves to laugh and hug, and is the most loyal and precious son any father could ask for. I am delighted to have him stand with me on this special day.

Orie Piken

Groomsman

Orie is one of the nicest souls you will ever meet. He is modest, dependable, and so funny. I am so glad that he is a part of my life and honored that he would be one of my groomsman.

Goran Radovanovic

Groomsman

Goran is a warm, loving, and free spirit, who has been my close friend since the 3rd grade. We are separated by an ocean but I know he has found his home and community. I can always talk with Goran and know he will support me, love me, and listen. We couldn't be more different nowadays but he always has a smile for me, an easy going way about him, and I send him and his fiance Rachel a huge thank you for flying in from Hawaii to support and celebrate with us.

Bruce Zisser

Groomsman

Bruce is strong, quiet, and fun all wrapped up together. He handles my political barbs with aplomb and tact and I appreciate that we can have thoughtful discussions about ideas without it becoming personal. I really appreciate his quiet strength, passion for Judaism and Israel, and most of all his understanding and friendship. Thanks for standing up there, supporting us, and celebrating with us.

Robert Ari Ackermann

Groomsman

When I was a teenager, my brother moved back home in part to create a strong relationship with me. He said we were brothers and should act like it instead of constantly bickering. I will always appreciate that foresight and his care to forge a strong bond of brotherhood. I am proud to have him as a groomsman.

Zaria Ackermann

Bridesmaid

What would I do without my helper, fashion adviser, cheerleader and all around gorgeous Zaria. She is so very loving and supportive and I am grateful for her in my life.

Melisa Lackey

Bridesmaid

Through our sons friendship we developed a bond that has continued through many struggles and joys. I am so happy to have her stand with me on my wedding day.

Natasha Page-Levin

Bridesmaid

We met at a train station in Long Island on the way to interview for Nursing School. We both got accepted to the program at SUNY and then got each other through our program. Although she lives in NY, I had to have her with me. She is one of those friends you can call up to talk and its like we have never been apart.

Rina Piken

Bridesmaid

Rina informed me after the proposal that she was not going to be a flower girl but a bridesmaid. She is as head-strong as she is cute and I am delighted to have my little girl be one of my bridesmaids.

Vivian Reha

Flower Girl

Vivian is one of the most ambitious teens I know that is also kind and giving.

Sheridan Reha

Flower Girl

She is a little rebel but does it with a smile and a loving heart.
