One Saturday morning at a basketball game, two of my crazy cousins told Jake that they had "the perfect" girl for him. Little did we know, they had been scheming to set us up for months. First I had to pass Jake's vetting process, he asked: my name, my height, and my occupation. Jake approved (because why wouldn't he?). My cousins then set out on a mission; I received crazy eyed pictures of them, random facts about Jake with the classic sell line “he is such a nice guy”, and a paparazzi style picture of him eating popcorn dressed like a bum. After reluctance from both of us given the slightly awkward means of introduction, we slowly started getting to know each other. A couple of months later we finally went on a date and here we are now!

Jake's sister was a senior in high school, which led me to suggest she visit the University of Michigan..and come visit me. Jake used that suggestion to his advantage and started planning the proposal. Under the ruse of a college visit and Alyssa wanting more senior pictures, I was tasked with picking a park to go to. While on our walk, Jake told me to pick a spot to take a picture of us. This park has a long boardwalk style path through the woods so I decided on a spot and we posed for an awkwardly long amount of time. I told Jake he was "being weird" and went to walk away, as I walked away he got down on one knee. I was quite surprised and asked if he was serious, at which he laughed. Of course I said yes!
