The Hike to "Yes!"

We began our hike at the Jenny Lake Visitor Center in Grand Teton National Park. Being October in the Tetons, it was cold and drizzling, but we were all geared up in our waterproof coats and pants. Our first destination was the hidden falls, about half a mile off the main trail. There were plenty of people along the trail, so fears of bear encounters waned. After some photos at the hidden falls, we made our way up a few hundred feet to Inspiration Point. The trail up the cliff was narrow at points and had some large steps up, making it a bit precarious. The view at the top was far more than worth it. A panoramic view of Jenny Lake and the Jackson Hole Valley to one side, and towering, dramatic mountains behind us. After some research in the months leading up to this trip, I figured this would be the spot, but I 𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘸 it would be after arriving there. This is a popular area near Jenny Lake, so the foot traffic was moderate, a bit to my dismay. I found a rock outcropping slightly away from the hubbub above us and behind a few boulders and trees, so we moved. I set up the tripod, as I had done several times before for photos, but this time it was a video. I worked up the courage and asked Nicolle, "Are you ready?" and pulled the box out of my bag. That beautiful scene was only outshone by the elation of hearing her say, "Yes!"
