Our story began in 2008 at Spring Valley Middle School. We shared band and a few other classes, moved within the same circles of friends, and quietly admired each other from afar. As time went on, our paths took us in different directions through different high schools, colleges, and seasons of life. Years later, in 2023, fate brought us back together. We reconnected and went on our first date at Pressbox, where the spark between us was instant. What started as a long-awaited reunion quickly turned into something special, and on August 23, 2023, we officially began our journey together

Jacob planned a beautiful engagement at Silver strand beach in Coronado, California on July 31, 2025. Marissa was surprised as she was dropped off to her engagement, unbeknownst to her, by her brother and sister-in-law. Marissa thought she was going to a photoshoot for her nephew, instead she was met by Jacob with an oceanic back ground and flowers, with a sign saying "will you marry me ?". Jacob made a heartfelt speech and Marissa said "yes!", and there began the beginning of forever.
