A cold Christmas Eve, happy tears, and a random suburban neighborhood in Simpsonville is where I said “YES!” One of the many things I love about this man is the fun we find in absolutely any situation. We’ve always enjoyed cold weather and the holidays, so we decided to aimlessly ride around town to look at Christmas lights before Santa came to visit. We were so lost and the Christmas lights were a bust! Jacob decided to Google search a house that was supposedly “known for their lights,” so we made our way only to arrive to a blow up figurine and a few strands of lights in some strangers front yard. At this point, we were tired and I asked Jacob to get me to the nearest interstate home. It got a little hot in the car, so we rolled down the windows to cool off. Jacob was wearing a beanie and as we were driving away it conveniently flew off of his head and right out of the window. In this moment, I had no clue that this was part if his plan. I am in tears laughing at this point and we turn around to spot the hat. In his mind, I would be pulling over and we would romantically walk hand-in-hand to retrieve the beanie. Instead, I pull up and the lights from my car spot the beanie. He is forced to get creative, because I wasn’t catching any hints. On the way back to the car after getting his beanie he convinces me to get out if my car, because “something was wrong with my tire.” I was so frustrated, because I had just replaced that exact tire a week prior. Then, there he was on one knee and all I could do was collapse! Of course, I said YES! That night became the beginning of our forever and a night we’ll never forget.
