We met back in grade school, and grew up going to the same school for 6 years, but that was that. Fast forward quite a few years later; it was not until the winter of 2017 when we reconnected (about 4.5 years post high school). A small group of us went to Peacock Lane during the Christmas season. Despite seeing each other from time to time during the summer prior, when I was home from college, that December night was the first time Jacob and I had a chance to really catch up and talk. However, I think it's safe to say that both of our interests in each other had started to develop during the summer, but neither of us knew it at that time. After our Christmas festivities, a couple days later Jacob asked me out on a date. Our first date was a trip to OMSI and then tacos afterwards! Unfortunately, I had to go back to Idaho to finish up school, but we continued to talk over the phone and text. On February 14, 2019, I received a beautiful bouquet of roses and a note in the mail asking if I would be Jacob's girlfriend. From then on we have been dating and going on adventures ever since.

Jacob and I had been talking about going on a short weekend get-a-way a couple months prior. We both had never been to Leavenworth, WA so it seemed like the perfect place to visit. Little did I know what Jacob had been planning all along. The day started out like any other day, except for the excitement of being in a new town, about to enjoy the mountain air, skiing and snowboarding together and spending the night in this well-known Christmas town. For me, the day progressed just as expected; we skied/boarded, went into town afterwards, then headed back to our new lodging for the night to stay with Jacob's sister and brother-in-law. Just before getting to our Airbnb, Jacob pulled over and said he had a surprise for me and that I had to cover my eyes. We pulled up to our place and Jacob helped me out of the car. As he was guiding me along a snowy path, I heard a guitar start playing and a familiar voice singing (shout out to Donny). Jacob led me to a spot that was surrounded by rose petals and candles (all thanks to his sisters) and to my surprise our dog, Hobbes, came running out the door with a big red bow tied to his harness. Next thing I knew, Jacob had gotten down on one knee, untied the ring from Hobbes, and then proposed. Of course, I said "YES!". The surprises kept coming and he had arranged for both my family and his to join in and celebrate the rest of that weekend with us. We all stayed at a large cabin in the woods. It was truly perfect and December 4, 2020 will be a day that we will always remember.

We are traveling to the Island of Hawaii along with our immediate family and close friends. Our wedding venue is at the beautiful Pa'ina Place on August 10, 2021 where we can't wait to say our "I do's".
