It all started with an old man needing saved by Kellie and Laura. Being the nature of the job they had a lot of gear. They decided to call in some help between bags and carrying this man out to the truck they needed more hands. Laura and a firefighter was loading a man into the truck and that's when she met Jacob. Jacob offered to take her position. To which she responded "I got it." We assume there was an eye roll there. They get to the door and it's raining outside and Jacob said "Are you sure you don't want me to take it?" Laura in her true nature gets snappy and says "How about you get my bags and make sure I don't fall." Needless to say Jacob was not a fan of Laura's and had a few choice words when he got back to his truck. Fast forward a week and Kellie had mentioned Jacob to Laura. Completely oblivious Laura said who is that?! When Laura was mentioned to Jacob (from Kellie) he used some choice words recalling the first night they met. Being the nice and benefit of the doubt guy he is Jacob slid into her DMs. After some good conversation Jacob asked for Laura's number. Jacob asked Laura out and their first date was hiking on her birthday. The rest has brought us here. Lots of naps, beers and long hours of work. Jacob has survived Laura's craziness and realized he couldn't wait to make her his wife!

After finally getting Mark's approval which is a story all on it's own, let us set the scene. Tonya wanted to watch the sunset and take family pictures. Tonya had to pull her mom voice out on Laura because she wouldn't come up since Jacob ticked her off earlier. Rewind, it was their night as a couple to cook dinner and he wasn't helping (mainly because he was trying to get Mark to stop talking for 5 min to ask if he could marry his daughter) so Laura was done with Jacob at that point for leaving her to do everything by herself! So Tonya being the saint that she is got EVERYONE including Laura to the top of the boat for pictures. Laura and Jacob sat on the lounge chairs and Hannah (Jacob's sister) asked Laura to take a picture. After that Tonya said "Now you and Jacob!" Laura never making anything easy said "ANOTHER ONE?!" They set up for the picture and Jacob asked Laura if she was still mad, to which she said yeah... He said I love you, she said I love you too but I'm still mad." That's when he hit her with..... "Are you mad enough to not marry me?" She looked with suspicion and that's when he dropped to one knee and Laura's tears started coming as she paused and screamed "REALLY?!" She nodded and said yeah! Then yelled we need tequila shots! Through the tears, beers and many cheers we're all ready for #simsredline

Sims redline is a nod to Jacob being a firefighter. The firefighter hashtag is thin redline, it is to show support and solidarity with fire service personnel and to honor injured or fallen firefighters. It is to represent the figurative point of no return, a point in which safety can no longer be guaranteed. In love and in life you meet that point often and being in the line of work they are Jacob and Laura have found one another to be their person who will forge the fires and go past that point of no return to provide safety and love. It takes a special kind of bond to love through the long hours and nights you can't leave work at work. These two are taking care of each other from this day forward and loving through whatever is thrown their way. Because they are one another's thin redline.
