Denver airport will have the most options to fly into but it is a 2.5 hour drive from the airport to Vail / Avon.
Flight
Vail airport (actually in Eagle) is 30 min from Avon. You can get a connector flight from Denver to Vail if you prefer not to drive.
Shuttle

If you are staying within Vail, there will be shuttles picking up and dropping off at the Vail Transportation Center which is located on the street level of the Vail Village Parking Garage. If you are staying within Vail Resorts you can simply walk here. If you are staying in Vail but not within the resort you will need to park in the Vail Village Parking Garage and pay the summer rates. Typically it is $2 every hour after the first hour up to $10. If you are staying in Avon, there will be a shuttle picking up and dropping off at the Elk Lot at Beaver Creek. This is located off of HWY 6 and is free to park but cars should not be left over night. Elk Lot, Avon, CO 81620
