Kennedy and Jacob both attended Texas A&M University and were friends with the same crowd! Kennedy and Jacob somehow didn't know each other, even though they had many mutual friends. In 2021, they met at one of their friends houses and didn't leave each others sides the entire time. After an immediate spark, Jacob told Kennedy he would pick her up for breakfast the next morning. Knowing college boys, Kennedy didn't think much about that statement but was overjoyed when she woke up to a text from Jacob saying he would pick her up soon! For this first date, Jacob took Kennedy to Polly's for breakfast tacos. Keep in mind, this is a TINY restaurant. When they walked in the door, all of Jacobs roommates were there to greet them (lol!). Since it is such a small restaurant, they just went ahead and sat with them. Thankfully, the crashed first date didn't scare Kennedy away! After that first date, Kennedy and Jacob were inseparable. They always made time to see each other after classes, and continued hanging out with their same mutual friend group. Many will say it was just meant to be. Even after Kennedy's graduation in 2021 and the start of long distance, they never failed to make time for each other. Whether it was Kennedy driving to College Station for football games (WHOOP!), or Jacob driving to Austin to explore the new city, they made the best of it and cherished every moment together. Once Jacob graduated from Texas A&M in 2022, he joined Kennedy in Austin to start his career. After 2 years of pure love, joy, and many memories, Jacob successfully pulled off a surprise proposal in Big Sky, Montana. Kennedy and Jacob are blessed to be surrounded by such loving family and friends who root for them like no other. They will always be grateful for the amount of support and love they have received, and know they will continue to receive, throughout their relationship! Here's to the future Mr. and Mrs. Essenburgh!
