How We Met

Brothers and Mother's and 15 years later....

My Mother and Jacob both worked at WalMart. Jacob first met my brother Larry, Jacob made for a good buddy when Larry would go up to see mom. Jacob always made time to talk to Larry via walkie talkie! So of course Jacob got to know our family, including me. Weeks before our first date I observed an old couple leaving a store, I watched as the old man, well into his late 70's, open the door for his wife, he gentle helped her into their car and closed the door. I said (knew) right then, "Mom I want to marry a man like that one day." So on our first date came and the first thing Jacob did was open my car door and I just knew...! Now at this time I was a little young for Jacob, cause you know when you are younger 3.5 years matters! Jacob's mom (Crazy Old Lady) said our relationship was not a good idea for our age gap. So out of protection for both of our futures she said we should wait on the dating thing. Jacob broke up with me. :( Fast Forward 15 years.... Jacob messaged me on Facebook, he still says he isn't sure what made him message me. We exchanged phone numbers and we talked all night on the phone (after all we had 15 years of catching up to do!!). The next day we went to dinner at the Lost Cajun. He still had that same familiarity to me from the 15 years before and, "I thought I loved him then (song lyric)." Nothing has changed..... I love him more everyday and I am glad he found me again! :)

Ziplines and the Future

In Amarillo, Texas after a competition shoot, Jacob begged me to go to Palo Duro Canyon with him. Coming into the park, we see a Zip Line, Jacob says to me, "Let's go do that!" My response was nothing short of, "Of course not, no way, not today, or tomorrow either, but you can go!" So, this is an awesome place with beautiful intermediate hiking trails. ....but guess what??? We were in boots! You don't HIKE in cowboy boots!!! So after making it about half way down this extremely steep hill, we came back up. So while looking around Jacob got down to look over the cliff we were on (I was completely oblivious as to what he was really prepping for). Meanwhile I am explaining how sorry I am that I couldn't keep going down. Then I said, " Although if you had kept going, I would have followed." He said, "You would have followed me all the way down there?" I said, "Yes, baby I would follow you ANYWHERE!" Then with one graceful gesture he pulled the ring from his pocket and said, "So... would you follow me into the future?" My answer was, "Yes, I will!"

For all the days along the way
