Ivy and I got to know each other in the fall of 2018 at OSU while Alpha Gamma Rho and Kappa Alpha Theta were paired for homecoming. We talked off and on throughout the next few months and into the spring, when I was heading home from a skiing trip with some friends, I stopped in Chickasha to see Ivy on the way back to Ringling for the first time. (My parents joke that since I didn’t tell them I was stopping or why I was stopping that they were concerned that my truck was broken down in Chickasha). I remember following the directions to Ivy’s house in Chickasha and thinking “wow is this really it?” as I thought it was the nicest place in town. That’s when I first met her mom and dad, as well as her Grammy and Papa and after some small talk I took her to La Fiesta for some fajitas and margaritas. From then on, Ivy and I went on a few dates and would go out with friends often, and then I first asked her to be my girlfriend on April 13th. She told me no. But the next day on April 14th, 2019 I asked again, a little more formally, and she thankfully said yes!! The last 3+years have been some of the best years of our lives as we have both graduated from OSU, have been on numerous Wade and McPherson family vacations together, as well as Ivy receiving a masters degree in counseling while working full time as a social worker, while I have been working on finishing up pharmacy school at OU. We plan to move to Ringling after we are married with our new kitty, Charlie! I couldn’t be more happy to be marrying the love of my life. We are so appreciative of all of our friends and family for the support we have received. We are looking forward to everyone hopefully being able to make it to our special day in Chickasha on April 29th, 2023!
