We're getting married!

The summer before senior year, Ireland had just committed to play volleyball and was starting to look ahead to what life would be like after high school. One day, she came across Jacob on Instagram. He was committed to play baseball at Army West Point—and yeah, she thought he was cute—so she followed him. Jacob noticed and ended up DMing her. What started as a simple conversation turned into talking every day, then FaceTiming pretty much all summer. By the time school was getting close to starting, they already knew each other really well, even though they hadn’t met in person yet. They finally met at one of Ireland’s volleyball games in Dallas. The next weekend, Ireland drove three hours to Dallas and back in the same day just to go to Six Flags with Jacob. Then the weekend after that, she came back again, and that’s when Jacob asked her to be his girlfriend. From September 4, 2021 on, they’ve been inseparable. Fast forward a few years, and on August 5, 2025, they were on a trip in Montana. While they were in Whitefish, Jacob proposed—and Ireland said yes. And that’s it. Just a DM, a lot of driving, and everything working out exactly how it was supposed to.
