Our Story

Jake and Hannah’s story is one marked by quiet moments, patient timing, and the clear hand of the Lord. They first noticed each other during their freshman year at Charleston Southern University while serving on the Board of Student Organizations, but it wasn’t until the start of the fall semester that God began weaving their paths together. On the first day of school, Jake was handing out donuts with his fraternity, and Hannah took one, not because she wanted a donut, but because she wanted an excuse to finally talk to him. Soon after, a simple moment in the dorm laundry room became one they’d never forget. With no dryers available, Jake offered Hannah his, dryer number 12, which quickly became their special number and a reminder of God’s thoughtful details. As they spent more time together, everything fell naturally into place. From a church corn maze to their first date bowling, their connection grew with ease and intention. Jake later asked Hannah to be his girlfriend during a beach picnic, using a painting to mark the beginning of something deeply meaningful. From the very start, their relationship was filled with moments that felt far too intentional to be coincidence. God revealed His perfect timing again and again, reminding them that this story had been written long before they ever realized it. Just one month before they began talking, Hannah had prayed through a list of standards for a future husband, and Jake met every one and more. She knew he was someone she would choose and fight for every day. Jake proposed privately under the Ravenel Bridge in Charleston, with just the two of them and a photographer capturing the moment. Grateful for God’s faithfulness and guidance, they look forward to beginning their marriage rooted in love, faith, and the promise of a life built together.
