COVID-19 ANNOUNCEMENTS

Hello, everyone! Please read the following for information regarding safety measures for our wedding. SOCIAL DISTANCING WILL BE ATTEMPTED BUT CANNOT BE GUARANTEED. During the ceremony at the church, seating will be available in the sanctuary as well as the balcony, family room, and basement. These extra areas will contain screens that are directly connected to the live stream. The ceremony will be live streamed via Facebook for those unable to attend (the link will be provided on this website). For those who do attend, you are welcome to wear masks and/or gloves. Extra hand sanitizer stations have been installed throughout the church for all to use. An elevator is available for travelling between the main floor and basement for anyone who needs it. As for the reception, please note our VENUE HAS BEEN CHANGED. We will be hosting a come and go, or stay as long as you want, reception at the Cobblestone Inn & Suites in Holstein, IA. Between the parking lot, lobby, event center, and back patio, there is enough space for all to attend. We will be taking advantage of disposable utensils for food and drink so as not to transfer germs. All items will be handed out by servers using gloves and facemasks. Our goal is to make everyone feel as comfortable and safe as possible while also provide the opportunity to join us in celebrating God's gift of marriage. How They Met

It was the start of another school year - Emily beginning her junior year of college, Jacob his senior year. Both social butterflies, they first laid eyes on each other on a warm September evening while out on the town with friends in Cedar Falls (Suds, of course!) Emily instantly fell for the goofy, tall pool player, and Jacob quickly fell for the giggly blonde. Sharing mutual friends, they continued seeing each other during group outings until Jacob asked Emily on their first date. And the rest is history!

The Proposal

Jacob and Emily enjoyed their visits to Jacob's family pond where they spent their time fishing (Emily seemed to always catch more than Jacob!) This was a special place for Jacob and somewhere he spent much of his childhood. While taking advantage of a long weekend, they decided to go on a hot September afternoon (almost a full year after they first met). They got to it right away - how many fish would they catch that day? It took Emily a couple casts to finally reel one in. As she was reeling it in, Jacob kneeled behind her waiting for her to turn around. When she finally did (to ask him to take it off the hook - because ew!), all thoughts of the caught fish disappeared. "You're the catch of a lifetime. I will love and protect you for the rest of my life. Will you marry me?" How could you say no to that?!

For all the days along the way
