- Many of you have likely received messages from your accommodations describing the current situation and have asked you to cancel, given the state of the area's infrastructure. If you haven’t yet canceled your bookings in the Banner Elk, Boone, or Blowing Rock area, we strongly recommend doing so now. There are currently no functional roads into Banner Elk, and any temporary access will be reserved for emergency services and local residents for the foreseeable future. - We will let you know as soon as we have a new definitive location and will be able to provide you with new recommended accommodations.
- For those of you flying into Charlotte, the drive to the Triangle area will be about the same as the drive to Banner Elk, so the change should not impact your plans too much. - For those flying into Asheville, please check in with your airline regarding the status of your flight and the condition of the roads; Asheville has also been heavily affected by flooding. - For guests arriving into Kingston (TRI), please be aware that many roads between eastern Tennessee and North Carolina have been impacted. You may need to take an alternate, longer route to reach the Triangle.
