On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, the couple headed to Galveston Bay Brewery to meet Jacob's mom for lunch-which also happened to be the place they had their first date. When they arrived, two espresso martinis were waiting for them at a table on the pier overlooking Clear Lake Shores. Jacob's mom had a belated birthday gift for Clarissa sitting on the table that she hadn't opened yet. After a few minutes, his mom mentioned she needed some more water and stepped inside. Moments later, Jacob grabbed the birthday bag, pulled out a small black box, took Clarissa's hand, and got down on one knee. He was shaking so bad-partly from nerves, but also because he did not want to drop the ring through the cracks of the pier straight into the water. To this day, Clarissa isn't entirely sure she actually said the word "yes"...but she definitely did not say no! The surprises were not over yet, all of their friends and family came pouring out from inside to celebrate. What was supposed to be a simple lunch turned into the most unforgettable engagement party. The very next morning, they headed to Florida for a family vacation-officially their first trip as an engaged couple. No rings were lost. The answer was definitely yes. Forever secured.
